Golden Himalayan Copper Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture

This Himalayan Copper Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture stands 19.3” (49 cm) tall with a base width of 11.8” (30 cm) and weighs 8.40 kg. Expertly handcrafted from a copper body, the statue is covered with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding and adorned with delicate gold and acrylic paintings. The deeply engraved carvings produce a magnificent 3D-like effect, reflecting both spiritual reverence and the exceptional skill of Nepali artisans. This exquisite sculpture is a meaningful addition to altars, meditation spaces, or personal sacred collections, embodying traditional craftsmanship and serene presence.

In its iconography, Shakyamuni Buddha is seated in padmāsana (lotus posture) upon a moon-disc lotus base, with the right hand in bhūmisparśa mudrā (earth-touching gesture) symbolizing his enlightenment. The left hand rests in his lap, holding an alms bowl, representing renunciation and simplicity, while the presence of the uṣṇīṣa (cranial protuberance) signifies his awakened wisdom.

Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was a spiritual teacher who lived in India around the 5th–4th century BCE and became the historical founder of Buddhism. After attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, he spent his life teaching the Dharma—the path to liberation from suffering—through wisdom, ethical conduct, and meditation.
