Shakyamuni Buddha Sacred Statue | The Timeless Radiance of Supreme Enlightenment

Shakyamuni Buddha Statue measures 8.66”/22cm in height with a 6.3”/16cm base and weighs 1.14 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal from a copper body, the sculpture is finished with 24K gold gilding, detailed acrylic painting, and carefully placed gemstones that lend richness and refinement to the hand-worked surface. The balanced proportions, luminous finish, and precise decorative details reflect the skill of Nepalese artisans and the enduring traditions of Himalayan Buddhist metalwork. Spiritually, the figure represents the historical Buddha and the path of awakening through wisdom, meditation, and ethical discipline, making this piece meaningful for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, Dharma centers, or sacred collections.

This Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is depicted seated in vajra posture on a richly carved double-layer lotus pedestal, with his right hand extending downward in bhumisparsha mudra, the earth-touching gesture, while his left hand rests in his lap holding an alms bowl. His serene face features gently lowered eyes, a subtle smile, elongated earlobes, and a small urna, with tightly curled blue-black hair rising into a rounded ushnisha topped with a small golden finial. His monastic robe covers the left shoulder and crosses the chest, while the right shoulder remains exposed; the robe is richly decorated with engraved floral and scrolling patterns and accented with red, blue, and turquoise gemstones. The crossed legs are similarly adorned with detailed ornamental patterns, and the lotus pedestal features layered petals, engraved borders, and gemstone accents that complement the richly finished figure.

Shakyamuni Buddha originated in the ancient Shakya kingdom of the Himalayan region, with Siddhartha Gautama traditionally understood to have been born at Lumbini, in present-day Nepal, around the 5th century BCE. Born into the Shakya clan, he later renounced royal life in search of liberation from suffering and attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya in present-day India. He then taught throughout northern India, establishing the teachings that became the foundation of Buddhism. In Buddhist tradition, he is revered as the historical Buddha of our age, whose teachings on the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, meditation, ethical conduct, and wisdom continue to guide practitioners toward awakening and liberation.
