Description

Historical Buddha Shakyamuni Meditation Sculpture: An Icon of Enlightenment

This Historical Buddha Shakyamuni Meditation Sculpture measures 8.07 inches (20.5 cm) in height with a 5.51-inch (14 cm) base and weighs 1.21 kg. Handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans from a copper body, the sculpture is enriched with luminous 24K gold gilding and carefully applied acrylic painting. The radiant finish emphasizes the Buddha’s peaceful facial features, monastic robes, and finely sculpted lotus pedestal, while the painted details add depth and definition. Its balanced proportions make it suitable for a Buddhist altar, meditation space, shrine room, or spiritual art collection.

Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted seated in the vajra posture, wearing the simple robes of an ordained Buddhist monk. His right hand extends over his knee in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, calling the earth to witness his attainment of enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. His left hand rests in his lap in the gesture of meditation while holding an alms bowl, representing renunciation and disciplined spiritual practice. His gently lowered eyes, elongated earlobes, and composed expression convey profound concentration, wisdom, and inner peace, making this sculpture a meaningful focal point for meditation and contemplation.
