Hand-Carved Large Statue of Medicine Buddha, Healing Deity
We are artists of Nepal, whose skills have been passed down to us for generations. We have hand-carved this beautiful large statue of healing deity, Medicine Buddha in our studio. The deity is depicted expressing a serene look while seated on a lotus seat. The body of the deity is molded using copper, which is then glided with 24K pure gold. The intricate carving of the robe and the lotus seat is one of the highlight of the statue. He is seen with vase in his left hand and a myrobalan plant in his right. The sculptor took us years of hard work to complete, he weighs 22kg.

Medicine Buddha is a Healing deity described as a doctor who cures the suffering of a sentient being. His teachings aim to free sentient beings from sickness, pain, anguish, and unhappiness while also emphasizing the need to acquire prosperity and enjoyment in this life. Many meditators in the Mahayana tradition admire his healing abilities. He is frequently shown with a blue (lapis lazuli) body and hands carrying an alms bowl and medical herbs.
