Long Life Deity: Hand-Carved Amitayus Statue for Eternal Well-being
Long Life Deity: Hand-Carved Amitayus Statue for Eternal Well-being measures 13.19”/33.5cm in height with a 10.04”/25.5cm base and weighs 3.64 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal by skilled artisans, it features a copper body enhanced with 24K gold gilding and detailed acrylic painting. The hand-carved surface work highlights the refined sculptural details, while the luminous gold finish brings definition to the intricate forms. Carefully applied acrylic painting adds color and depth to selected areas, reflecting the precision and patience involved in traditional Nepalese metal craftsmanship. The combination of detailed carving, copper craftsmanship, gold gilding, and painted finishing gives the sculpture a distinctive handcrafted character suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, and Himalayan art collections.
Seated in the vajra posture, the figure holds a long-life vase (kalasha) filled with the nectar of immortality in both hands, resting in dhyana mudra. The peaceful expression, elongated earlobes, curled hair, and prominent ushnisha reflect awakened wisdom and meditative stability. Unlike the simpler monastic appearance of a Buddha, this form is richly adorned with a five-jeweled crown, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and flowing silk garments, symbolizing the perfected qualities of an enlightened being. Intricate carvings across the crown, jewelry, robes, and lotus throne add depth and texture, while gold gilding, acrylic painting, and gemstone embellishments enhance the detailed Himalayan craftsmanship.
