Rooted in Nepalese artistry, this Maitreya Buddha statue symbolises the promise of future enlightenment. Standing 16.14 inches (41 cm) tall with an 11.02-inch (28 cm) base and weighing 5.29 kg, this 24K gold-gilded copper sculpture radiates kindness from its traditional lotus base. Covered with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding and carved with deeply engraved carvings that produce a magnificent 3D-like effect, the Bodhisattva is also decorated with vibrant acrylic paintings and gemstones. It exudes calmness and welcomes blessings and wisdom into any space.
In terms of iconography, Maitreya is depicted seated upon a magnificent throne. His principal hands form the Dharmachakra mudra, holding lotus flowers that rise gracefully by his shoulders. The right lotus cradles a Dharma wheel, while the left has a kalasha (vase), signifying wisdom, purity, and the continuity of the teachings. He wears a five-pointed crown, representing the Five Dhyani Buddhas. The throne itself is elaborately adorned, with a Cheppu at its apex and Garuda carvings, and is surrounded by multiple intricate animal motifs that highlight both protection and auspiciousness.
