Traditionally Hand Carved Maitreya The Future Buddha Statue

We, the artists, have traditionally crafted this statue of the Maitreya the Future Buddha in a purely handcrafted technique. Carved from a copper body gilded with 24k genuine gold and finely painted with acrylic paint to highlight the details in the statue. The deity is depicted sitting upon a moon disc lotus with both his hands, held at the level of his heart, from the Dharmachakra Mudra, the gesture of teaching and turning the Wheel of Dharma. His hands hold a stem of a lotus on each hand which extends to the backside of the statue, which symbolizes his purity and power. The body ornaments and the deities crown are embedded with precious stones and jewels. You can use this figurine for different Buddhist Rituals and meditational practices.

Maitreya, in the Buddhist tradition, the future Buddha, presently a bodhisattva residing in the Tushita heaven, who will descend to earth to preach anew the dharma (“law”) when the teachings of Gautama Buddha have completely decayed. Maitreya is the earliest Bodhisattva around whom a cult developed and is mentioned in scriptures from the 3rd century CE. He was accepted by all schools of Buddhism and is still the only bodhisattva generally honored by the Theravada tradition.
