This handmade, majestic statue of Future Buddha Maitreya portrays him seated regally upon an intricately carved throne, radiating a divine presence and serenity. His hands are in the Dharmachakra Mudra, symbolizing the turning of the wheel of Dharma. From each side of his seat, lotus stalks rise—the right bearing a Dharma wheel and the left supporting a kalasha, both representing wisdom and spiritual abundance. Adorned with a five-pointed crown, elegant bodhisattva ornaments, and golden monastic robes, he exudes both royal and monastic grace. His sacred swirling scarf drapes around him with delicate movement.
The throne itself is a masterpiece: Garuda crowns the top, flanked by Makara symbols and serpent-headed deities carved into the upper structure. Elephants grace the lower portion, signifying strength and stability, while two lions sit nobly at the base, beside his legs, representing courage and guardianship. A radiant halo behind his head, adorned with multiple-layered lotuses, completes this magnificent depiction of Maitreya—the Buddha of loving-kindness and the future.

Maitreya Buddha is regarded as the Future Buddha in both Mahayana and Theravāda Buddhist traditions. He is prophesied to appear on Earth in a future era when the teachings of the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni, have been forgotten. At that time, Maitreya will achieve full enlightenment and once again turn the Wheel of Dharma, guiding beings toward liberation.
