Namgyalma, also known as Ushnishavijaya, is a beloved Buddhist goddess embodying longevity, purification, and protection. Her three faces tell a story of profound wisdom, the clearing of obstacles, and shielding from harm. The ushnisha crown on her head symbolizes enlightened insight, while the lotus throne beneath her reflects purity and spiritual growth. In her upper right hand, she holds either a lotus or Amitabha Buddha, offering blessings of healing and long life. Her lower right hand displays the varada mudrā, a gesture of compassionate wish fulfillment. With a bow and arrow in hand, she bravely faces challenges, and the double vajra she carries represents unwavering wisdom. The sacred vase she holds overflows with the nectar of immortality, signifying renewal and lasting vitality. Seated in vajra posture, Namgyalma shines with inner strength, spiritual protection, and a path toward transformation and enlightenment.

In Tibetan Buddhism, Namgyalma (Ushnishavijaya) is a god linked to longevity, purification, and protection from untimely death. Frequently, she is portrayed with eight arms and three faces, each of them clutching an emblem that represents one of her many abilities. In order to accumulate merits and purify their karma, devotees partake in the Namgyalma Purification Practice, which includes visualization and recitation of mantras. This exercise is particularly beneficial for those who are ill, have a fear of passing away, or want to extend their lives. In addition to being a representation of spiritual strength and longevity, Namgyalma is also a protector against hostile forces and an aid for the dying.
