Namgyalma Longevity Blessing Sculpture: A Radiant Emblem of Eternal Life
This Namgyalma Longevity Blessing Sculpture stands 8.66 inches (22 cm) high upon a 7.48-inch (19 cm) base and weighs 1.79 kg. Meticulously handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans, the sculpture features an oxidized copper body enriched with luminous 24K gold gilding, silver plating, and carefully applied acrylic painting. The contrast between its silver-plated surfaces and golden accents highlights the deity’s multiple faces, graceful arms, sacred implements, flowing garments, and intricate ornaments. Its balanced dimensions and refined craftsmanship make it suitable for a Buddhist altar, meditation space, shrine room, or distinguished collection of Himalayan sacred art.
Namgyalma, also known as Ushnishavijaya, is traditionally portrayed with three faces, each bearing three eyes, and eight arms arranged around her peaceful central form. Her right hands hold a crossed vajra, a lotus supporting Amitabha Buddha, and an arrow, while another displays the gesture of supreme generosity. Her left hands carry a vajra lasso and bow, form the gesture of protection, and support a nectar-filled longevity vase in the meditative gesture. Adorned with an elaborate crown, celestial jewelry, and flowing silk garments, she sits in the stable vajra posture upon a lotus seat. Revered as one of Tibetan Buddhism’s principal long-life deities, Namgyalma is associated with longevity, purification, and overcoming obstacles, making this finely crafted sculpture a meaningful focal point for devotional practice and contemplation.
