Nepalese Handcrafted Statue of Buddha Shakyamuni measures 8.9 inches (22.5 cm) in height and rests on a base width of 6.3 inches (16 cm), weighing 1.78 kilograms. Expertly handcrafted from a copper body, it is richly gilded in 24K gold and adorned with intricate gold and acrylic paintings, showcasing fine Himalayan artistry.

The Buddha sits gracefully in the lotus position, radiating calm and wisdom. His right hand reaches down in the bhumisparsha mudra, calling the earth to witness his awakening. Crowning his head is the ushnisha, a symbol of supreme knowledge, while his elongated ears reflect his noble birth and deep spiritual understanding. Draped in a plain monk’s robe, he embodies simplicity and renunciation. This statue tells the timeless story of awakening and peaceful wisdom.

Buddha Shakyamuni, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was a spiritual teacher and the founder of Buddhism who lived in the 5th to 6th century BCE. Born a prince in Lumbini (in present-day Nepal), he renounced his royal life in search of a solution to human suffering after witnessing old age, sickness, and death. Through deep meditation and self-discipline, he attained enlightenment (bodhi) under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya. From then on, he became known as Shakyamuni Buddha, meaning "Sage of the Shakya Clan."

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
