Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Gautama Buddha or Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism. After years of spiritual practice and deep meditation, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India. From then on, he became known as Shakyamuni, meaning "Sage of the Shakya Clan."
