The art of Guru Padmasambhava statue was traditionally carved by hand and gilded with pure 24-karat gold. This sculpture has been deftly crafted, embellished, and sculpted with expensive jewels and ornaments by Kathmandu Valley artists. With a semi-wrathful expression, the deity sits on a lotus seat. He holds a vajra in his right hand and a skull vase filled with immortality nectar in his left. Similarly, he has the Khatvang trident in the curve of his left hand.
