Description

Traditionally Crafted Padmasambhava Guru Rinpoche

The sculpture of Padmasambhava Guru Rinpoche was made by the most talented craftsmen in Kathmandu and the skills that have been passed down from generation to generation. This handcrafted sculpture of the great Guru Rinpoche was made from a pure copper body and gilded with 24k genuine gold. The deity is seen seated cross legged with a beautifully engrossing halo illuminates the face, while Acrylic paint highlights the statue with more extravagant detail. He is depicted with a piercing gaze with a semi wrathful expression seated upon a moon disc lotus. Padmasambhava holds a skull cup, Dorje, with a long tantric staff resting on his shoulder. It took us months of hard work carving intricate design patterns and would be great gift for a practitioner like you.

For most Himalayan Buddhists, Guru Rinpoche is the second Buddha, the Buddha of all forms and teachings of enlightenment, focusing on the tantras. Tantra teaches us to initially see our instructors as Guru Rinpoche, just as the Great Way leads us to see our enlightened nature and name it buddha-nature. Then we view everything as Guru Rinpoche, down to the atoms of our bodies, all beings equally, and every scrap of every blade of grass, every grain of sand. Finally, it is Guru Rinpoche who we realize when we recognize our natural, timeless awareness.
