Padmasambhava Guru Rinpoche Sacred Sculpture: Embodiment of Wisdom and Blessing
This impressive Padmasambhava Guru Rinpoche sculpture measures 21.85 inches (55.5 cm) in height, rests upon a 13.6-inch (34.5 cm) base, and weighs 8.74 kg. Crafted by skilled Nepali artisans, the statue is formed from a durable copper body that provides strength and allows the robes, ornaments, ritual implements, and facial features to be rendered with remarkable precision. Its surface is richly finished with 24K gold gilding, creating a luminous appearance that enhances the sculptural contours and finely patterned details. Carefully applied acrylic painting brings definition to the eyes, lips, hair, garments, and other decorative features, while hand-carved gemstone accents introduce colour and refinement throughout the composition. With its commanding scale and traditional Himalayan craftsmanship, this sculpture is ideal for Buddhist altars, meditation rooms, shrine spaces, or distinguished spiritual collections.
Guru Rinpoche is portrayed seated majestically upon a lotus pedestal, wearing layered robes and his distinctive lotus hat. His right hand holds a vajra near his heart, while his left hand supports a skull cup containing a sacred vase. A khatvanga staff rests against his left shoulder and rises beside his body, complementing the ritual objects held in his hands. His seated posture appears composed yet authoritative, with one leg folded inward and the other positioned forward. The carefully modelled face, defined moustache, attentive eyes, and firm expression give the figure a dignified presence. Intricate patterns cover the flowing robes, while the crown, ornaments, ritual implements, and lotus pedestal are enhanced through detailed carving and gemstone embellishment.
