This Padmasambhava Sculpture reflects the refined craftsmanship and traditional metalworking techniques of Himalayan Buddhist artistry. Measuring 36 cm (14.17 inches) in height with a 26 cm (10.2 inches) base and weighing 4.73 kg, it features a copper body enhanced with 24K gold gilding and detailed acrylic painting. The radiant golden surface emphasizes the finely modeled contours and ornamental details, while the acrylic painting adds definition and depth to selected features. Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), revered as the “Second Buddha” in Tibetan Buddhism, embodies enlightened wisdom, compassionate activity, and the transformative power to overcome obstacles. His right hand holds the vajra (dorje), representing indestructible awareness and the unwavering power of enlightened realization, while his left hand supports a skull cup (kapala), symbolizing the transformation of ordinary perception and negative emotions into wisdom. Resting beside him is the khatvanga, a trident-topped tantric staff, signifying his mastery of Vajrayana practice and the integration of profound wisdom and skillful means.
