This Dark Pehar Gyalpo Copper Handmade Statue measures 10.4”/26.5cm in height and 8.7”/22cm at the base, weighing 3.54 kg. Crafted entirely from oxidized copper, this statue depicts Pehar Gyalpo, a powerful protector spirit in Tibetan Buddhism. Skillfully handcrafted by Nepali artisans, this piece is a meaningful addition to meditation spaces, home altars, or spiritual collections seeking protection and strength.

In this iconography, Pehar Gyalpo is depicted as a formidable protector deity with three wrathful faces, each expressing intense vigilance and power. He wears a distinctive hat, marking his status as a powerful spirit king within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Pehar Gyalpo is shown riding a mythical snow lion, symbolizing dominion over untamed forces and fearless protection of the Dharma.

His main right hand holds an arrow, while the main left hand grasps a bow, reflecting his sharp focus and spiritual precision. In his upper right hand, he brandishes a vajra axe, representing the cutting of ignorance with unshakable force. The lower right hand wields a sword, a classic emblem of wisdom cutting through delusion, while the upper left hand also holds a sword, reinforcing his role as a relentless guardian. This powerful form underscores his role as a fierce and watchful deity invoked for protection, order, and the safeguarding of sacred teachings.

Pehar Gyalpo is a powerful protector deity in Tibetan Buddhism, known as the chief of the Five Gyalpo Spirits and often linked to the Nechung Oracle, the state oracle of Tibet. Originally a spirit from Tibet’s pre-Buddhist traditions, he was subdued and bound by Guru Padmasambhava, who transformed him into a Dharma protector—a guardian sworn to protect the Buddha’s teachings.
