Green Tara is depicted seated on a lotus throne, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. Her relaxed pose, called lalitasana or “royal ease,” features her right leg extended and left leg folded, showing both meditative calm and her readiness to act in service of sentient beings. Her right hand lowers, holding a lotus stem symbolizing wisdom, compassion, and the power to remain pure while helping the world. Her left hand, near her heart in the three jewels mudra, represents the Buddha, Dharma (teachings), and Sangha (community). A blue utpala lotus blooms near her ears, reflecting wisdom and purity rising through difficulty. Her serene, youthful face expresses loving-kindness, while her ornate adornments, necklaces, bracelets, crown, and more reflect her enlightened status and the richness of the Dharma.
