Chenrezig, known as the embodiment of infinite compassion in Tibetan Buddhism, is iconographically depicted in serene and elegant forms that symbolize his vow to liberate all sentient beings from suffering. He is commonly shown seated in vajra posture upon a lotus throne, representing purity and transcendence beyond samsara. Often, he has four arms: two hands joined at the heart in anjali mudra holding a wish-fulfilling jewel (cintamani), while the other two hold a crystal mala symbolizing continuous compassionate activity and a lotus flower representing awakened purity. His calm, compassionate expression and gently lowered gaze reflect boundless empathy, while his adorned silk garments and jeweled crown signify his sambhogakaya manifestation. In some forms, he may be depicted with multiple arms or even a thousand arms and eyes, symbolizing his ability to perceive and respond to the suffering of all beings simultaneously.

Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the patron deity of Tibet and the supreme embodiment of the compassion of all Buddhas. According to Buddhist tradition, he watches over all sentient beings, postponing his own final enlightenment to guide others away from suffering. Reciting his sacred mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, aligns the practitioner's mind with his boundless, loving nature.

An heirloom of Himalayan artistry honoring wisdom and serenity.
