Traditionally Hand Carved Gold & Silver Plated Seated Buddha Statue
We used conventional techniques to craft this immaculate Seated Buddha Statue in our workshop. We used oxidized copper to mold the figurine. This piece of art looks elegant as it is composed of gold gilding as well as silver plating. The face, part of the halo, edge of the robe, and lotus seat are gilded using genuine 24K gold. While the other part of the halo, the Kasaya robe, is silver plated. The robe consists of intricate design patterns. All of these are hand-carved using a hammer and chisels. To do delicate carvings, artists must have decades of experience as he has to create intricate design patterns on a small surface area. He has to fulfill every minute detail on the statue based on the traditional iconography in Buddhist scriptures. We have depicted the Historical Buddha with his right hand softly touching the ground and his left hand holding an alms bowl; the Buddha is sitting with a serene facial expression. The halo face illuminates the face of the deity.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
