Shakyamuni Buddha Buddhist Statue | The Sacred Teachings of the Four Noble Truths
This Shakyamuni Buddha Statue measures 13.38”/34cm in height with a 9.44”/24cm base and weighs 4.48 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal from a copper body, the sculpture is finished with 24K gold gilding and detailed acrylic painting that bring warmth, clarity, and refined visual depth to the carefully worked surface. Its balanced proportions, radiant finish, and precise metalwork reflect the skill of Nepalese artisans and the enduring traditions of Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship. Spiritually, the figure represents the historical Buddha and the path of awakening through meditation, wisdom, ethical discipline, and liberation from suffering.
This Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted seated in the full vajra posture upon a lotus base, with both legs crossed and the soles of the feet facing upward in a stable meditation position. His right hand extends downward in bhumisparsha mudra, with the fingertips touching the ground to symbolize the moment of enlightenment when the earth was called to witness his awakening. His left hand rests in dhyana mudra in his lap while holding an alms bowl, representing meditation, concentration, and the simplicity of the monastic path. His serene face features gently lowered eyes, a subtle expression of peace, elongated earlobes, tightly curled hair, and a prominent ushnisha, traditional signs of an enlightened Buddha. He wears simple monastic robes that drape naturally around the body, emphasizing his renunciation and contemplative nature. The lotus base serves as a sacred foundation, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening, while the balanced posture, clearly defined mudras, alms bowl, facial features, and monastic robes complete the traditional iconography of Shakyamuni Buddha.

Shakyamuni Buddha, born Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and is traditionally believed to have been born in Lumbini, present-day Nepal, around the 5th century BCE. After renouncing princely life in search of freedom from suffering, he attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya in present-day India and later taught throughout northern India. His teachings on the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, meditation, ethical conduct, and wisdom became the foundation of Buddhism and continue to guide practitioners toward awakening and liberation.
