This Shakyamuni Buddha statue, known as the "Sage of the Shakya Clan," depicts the historical Buddha in serene enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. Seated in the Vajra posture (Padmasana) on a lotus base, his right hand is extended in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, while his left hand holds an alms bowl, symbolising renunciation. The ushnisha atop his head signifies wisdom, and the spiral curls represent the snails that shielded him from the sun during meditation. His serene face reflects inner peace. The surface features deeply engraved carvings that create a magnificent 3D-like effect, enhancing the statue’s divine presence.
