This Shakyamuni Buddha Founder of Buddhist Teachings stands at 6.3”/16cm in height and 5.1”/13cm at the base, weighing 0.8 kg. It is handcrafted from an oxidized copper body, featuring a deep, subdued finish that emphasizes the carefully carved details of the figure. The sculpture presents a peaceful facial expression, rounded ushnisha, elongated earlobes, traditionally rendered monastic robes, and a finely carved lotus pedestal. The oxidized surface highlights the sculptural depth of the robes, facial features, hands, and lotus petals, creating a calm and contemplative appearance. Its compact proportions make it well suited for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, devotional practice, or sacred collections.

This sacred depiction portrays Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha and founder of the Buddhist teachings. He is traditionally shown seated in vajra posture, representing stability and deep meditation. His right hand is lowered in the bhumisparsha mudra, the earth-touching gesture recalling his awakening beneath the Bodhi tree, while his left hand rests in his lap holding the alms bowl, symbolizing renunciation, simplicity, and disciplined spiritual practice. His serene expression reflects the clarity attained through meditation, while the ushnisha represents awakened wisdom and the elongated earlobes recall his renunciation of worldly life. The monastic robes and lotus pedestal further symbolize his life of spiritual discipline and the purity of the path he taught, making the sculpture a representation of awakening, wisdom, compassion, and liberation.
