Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture | 24K Gold Gilding with Delicate Acrylic Details
Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture measures 15.75”/40cm in height with an 11.02”/28cm base and weighs 7.27 kg. Crafted by Nepalese artisans, this copper sculpture brings together traditional metalwork, 24K gold gilding, and acrylic painting. The gilded finish lends warmth and radiance to the surface, complemented by painted details that introduce color and definition to the composition. Its craftsmanship reflects Nepal’s heritage of Himalayan Buddhist art, while its spiritual significance honors the historical Buddha and his teachings on wisdom, compassion, and liberation from suffering. Placed on an altar or within a meditation space, it serves as a reminder of the path toward awakening.
Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted seated in the traditional vajra posture on an elaborately carved lotus pedestal. The right hand extends downward in bhumisparsha mudra, with the fingertips touching the ground, while the left hand rests in the lap holding an alms bowl. The face has a calm, gentle expression with two clearly defined eyes, a small urna, elongated earlobes, tightly curled dark hair, and a prominent ushnisha topped with a small golden finial. The monastic robes are richly decorated with deeply engraved floral, scrolling, and ornamental patterns across the shoulders, sleeves, chest, waist, and lower garment. The robe borders are carefully defined, creating a detailed contrast between the patterned sections and smoother areas of the body. The hands, feet, facial features, robe folds, and garment details are precisely modeled, while the broad lotus pedestal features repeated carved petals, ornamental bands, and intricate patterns along its lower section.
