Shakyamuni Buddha Depicted on Throne Statue, Himalayan Art
Carved by master artisans in our studio, we have depicted the statue of Shakyamuni Buddha on the Throne. With the skill passed down to us from generations of the sculptor, we used a copper body and gilded the figure with 24k pure gold. We have depicted him sitting on a magnificently carved Throne. He is seated on a lotus with a calm expression. His right hand is on earth touching mudra, while his left-hand holds an alms bowl. Our master artisans have used a perfect combination of acrylic paints, silver, and gold to give the statue a beautiful look. As you can see, his face is gilded with heavy gold, which is also one of the most delicate areas because it can get smudged if touched with the bare hand.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain in life. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
