Description

A Serene Shakyamuni Buddha Sacred Shrine Meditation Figure for Inner Peace

This Shakyamuni Buddha Sacred Shrine Meditation Figure measures 13.38 inches (34 cm) in height, rests upon a 9.64-inch (24.5 cm) base, and weighs 3.66 kg. Handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans, the sculpture is formed from an oxidized copper body and enriched with radiant 24K gold gilding and carefully applied acrylic painting. The contrast between the darkened copper surface and luminous gilded areas brings depth to the Buddha’s facial features, monastic robes, hands, and sculpted lotus pedestal. Painted accents add further clarity to selected details while preserving the traditional character of the metalwork. With its balanced proportions and calm presence, the figure offers a distinguished focal point for a Buddhist shrine, meditation room, contemplative space, or collection of Himalayan sacred sculpture.

Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted seated in the steady vajra posture, wearing the simple robes of an ordained monk. His right hand extends across his knee in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, or earth-touching gesture, recalling the moment he called the earth to witness his enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. His left hand rests in his lap in meditative equipoise and traditionally supports an alms bowl, symbolizing renunciation, discipline, and freedom from attachment. The prominent ushnisha represents awakened wisdom, while his elongated earlobes recall the princely ornaments he abandoned in pursuit of liberation. His gently lowered eyes and composed expression convey deep concentration and inner peace. As the historical Buddha and teacher of the Dharma, Shakyamuni represents the path of ethical conduct, meditation, and insight leading toward freedom from suffering.
