Description
Handmade Shakyamuni Buddha Oxidized Statue | Sacred Form of Insight and Liberation
Handmade Shakyamuni Buddha Oxidized Statue measures 12”/30.5cm in height with a 9”/23cm base and weighs 3.8 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal by skilled artisans, it is made from an oxidized copper body, giving the sculpture a distinctive darkened surface and refined traditional character. The oxidized finish accentuates the sculpted contours, serene facial features, robes, and other fine details, while the carefully shaped form reflects the precision and dedication of traditional Nepalese metal craftsmanship.
Seated in the traditional vajra posture, the figure displays the bhumisparsha mudra, with the right hand lowered toward the earth while the left hand rests calmly in the lap, traditionally holding an alms bowl. The serene expression, gently lowered gaze, elongated earlobes, curled hair, and prominent ushnisha are characteristic features of the awakened Buddha. The simple monastic robes are arranged in carefully defined folds, emphasizing renunciation, humility, and spiritual discipline. The balanced posture reflects deep meditation and inner stability, while the earth-touching gesture recalls the moment of enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree, when the earth was called to witness the awakening. Together, these features express wisdom, determination, mindfulness, and the path toward liberation.
