Shakyamuni Shrine Statue: A Beacon of Enlightenment and Inner Peace
Created as a distinguished centerpiece for a sacred setting, this Shakyamuni shrine statue measures 19.09 inches (48.5 cm) in height, rests upon a broad 15.94-inch (40.5 cm) base, and weighs 13.18 kg. Accomplished Nepali artisans handcrafted the sculpture from copper, covering it with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding and detailed acrylic painting. Deeply engraved carvings produce a magnificent 3D-like effect, enriching the Buddha’s serene face, finely arranged hair curls, engraved monastic robes, graceful hands, and richly modeled lotus pedestal. Its substantial weight, balanced proportions, and carefully finished surfaces give the sculpture a refined presence suited to a temple altar, meditation hall, private shrine, or premium collection of Himalayan Buddhist art.
Shakyamuni Buddha is traditionally shown seated in the unwavering vajra posture, with his right hand descending in the Bhumisparsha Mudra. This earth-touching gesture recalls the moment he called the earth to witness his enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree. His left hand rests in meditative equipoise and supports an alms bowl, symbolizing discipline, renunciation, and freedom from worldly attachment. The ushnisha represents awakened wisdom, while the elongated earlobes recall the royal ornaments he relinquished before beginning his spiritual journey. His lowered eyes and composed expression communicate profound concentration, offering an inspiring reminder of the Buddhist path toward wisdom, compassion, and liberation.
