Handmade Statue of Shakyamuni Buddha and His Disciples
This Shakyamuni Buddha set includes a central statue of Shakyamuni Buddha measuring 18.1” (46 cm) in height and 12.6” (32 cm) at the base, accompanied by two disciples, each standing 13.8” (35 cm) tall with a base width of 5.7” (14.5 cm). Crafted from a copper body and adorned with 24K gold gilding, intricate gold and acrylic paintings, and finely inlaid gemstones, the ensemble carries a total weight of 15.50 kg. Expertly designed and handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans, this set reflects both spiritual reverence and masterful craftsmanship.
In its iconography, Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted in the bhūmisparśa mudrā, with his right hand touching the earth and his left hand resting in meditation while holding an alms bowl, symbolizing his victory over illusion and his renunciation. The two disciples are shown carrying alms bowls and staffs, representing monastic discipline, humility, and their devotion as close followers of the Buddha.
