This Guru Rinpoche Set brings together five important figures connected with the establishment and transmission of Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet: Guru Rinpoche, Guru Tsokye Dorje, Guru Norla, King Trisong Detsen, and the scholar Shantarakshita. The set has a combined weight of 12.93 kg. Guru Rinpoche measures 31.5 cm high, Guru Tsokye Dorje 32.5 cm, Guru Norla 34 cm, Trisong Detsen 24.5 cm, and Shantarakshita 23 cm. Each figure is seated on its own detailed pedestal, creating a graceful and visually balanced arrangement for an altar, meditation room, lineage shrine, or Himalayan art collection.
Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, appears with his vajra, lotus hat, and khatvanga staff, reflecting his role as the great tantric master who brought Vajrayana teachings to Tibet. Guru Tsokye Dorje is shown as one of his enlightened manifestations, with a regal presence and ritual attributes. Guru Norla represents Guru Rinpoche in his wealth-bestowing form, associated with generosity and the removal of material and spiritual poverty. Trisong Detsen, the Tibetan king who supported the founding of Samye Monastery, represents devoted patronage of the Dharma. Shantarakshita, the great Indian abbot and scholar, embodies the learning and monastic foundation that helped establish Buddhism in Tibet. Together, these five figures honour the masters and patrons whose united activity supported the flourishing of Tibetan Buddhism.
