Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is traditionally depicted seated peacefully upon a fully blossomed lotus throne in the vajra posture, symbolizing perfect meditative stability and enlightened awareness. He is portrayed with four arms, each expressing an aspect of his limitless compassion. His two principal hands are joined before his heart in the Anjali Mudra, holding the wish-fulfilling jewel (Cintamani), representing the awakened mind of compassion that benefits all beings. His upper right hand holds a crystal mala (prayer beads), symbolizing the continuous recitation of compassionate prayers and the liberation of sentient beings. His upper left hand holds a white lotus (utpala), signifying purity that remains unstained by worldly suffering. He is adorned with a magnificent five-jeweled crown, celestial ornaments, necklaces, bracelets, armlets, and flowing silk garments, while a gentle antelope skin is traditionally draped across his shoulder, identifying him as the Bodhisattva of Compassion. The finely set gemstones, intricate gold and acrylic painting, and carefully sculpted details beautifully enhance every sacred attribute, creating an authentic Himalayan representation of Chenrezig's boundless compassion and timeless spiritual grace.
