The Statue of Amitayus stands 19.9 inches (50.5 cm) tall, with a base width of 16.5 inches (42 cm), and weighs 9.30 kg. Meticulously handcrafted from a copper body, it is richly adorned with 24K gold gilding, detailed gold and acrylic paintings, and hand-set gemstones, reflecting the refined artistry of Nepali craftsmanship.

Amitayus, also known as the Buddha of Infinite Life, is depicted seated in padmasana (full lotus posture) on a lotus base, embodying tranquility and longevity. He wears a five-pointed crown, representing the Five Dhyani Buddhas, which symbolizes his enlightened nature and wisdom. His hands rest in dhyana mudra, cradling a kalasha (long-life vase), which holds the nectar of immortality, representing the blessings of vitality, wisdom, and spiritual fulfillment.

Amitayus is the Buddha of Infinite Life in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. He is a manifestation of Amitabha Buddha, specifically focused on longevity, vitality, and the removal of obstacles to lifespan.

Unlike Amitabha, who is associated with the Western Pure Land, Amitayus is primarily venerated in long-life practices. He is critical of rituals intended to promote health, extend life, and accumulate merit for the benefit of spiritual progress.

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
