Green Tara (Syama Tara) is a highly revered female deity in Vajrayana Buddhism, known as the “Mother of All Buddhas” and the embodiment of compassion (karuṇā) and enlightened activity (bodhicitta). She is invoked for protection, swift assistance, and the removal of obstacles in the spiritual path.

Green Tara is often depicted in a dynamic posture with her right leg extended, symbolizing her readiness to step forward and aid sentient beings. She is associated with youthful vitality, courage, and compassion in action, and is considered the active, protective aspect of Tara, complementing White Tara, who represents serenity and long life.
