Namgyalma, also known as Ushnishavijaya, is a revered Buddhist deity symbolizing longevity, purification, and protection. Her iconography is rich with profound meaning: her three faces signify spiritual wisdom, the removal of obstacles, and safeguarding against hostile forces. The ushnisha crown atop her head signifies her awakened, enlightened state, while the lotus seat she rests upon denotes purity and spiritual transcendence. In her upper right hand, she holds either a lotus or an image of Amitabha Buddha, representing blessings of healing and a long life. Her lower right hand performs the varada mudrā, symbolizing her compassionate readiness to grant wishes and apparent hindrances. The bow and arrow she holds represent skillful means and the focused ability to overcome challenges. She also carries a viśvavajra (double vajra), embodying indestructible wisdom, and a kalasha (sacred vase) filled with the nectar of immortality, a powerful symbol of renewal and enduring life. Seated firmly in vajra posture, Namgyalma radiates qualities of inner stability, spiritual protection, and the transformative path toward enlightenment and well-being.
