Description

Manjushri Copper Sculpture | Embodiment of Transcendent Wisdom

Manjushri Copper Sculpture measures 13.39”/34cm in height with a 10.83”/27.5cm base and weighs 4.1 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal by skilled artisans, it is formed from a copper body and finished with 24K gold gilding, acrylic painting, and carefully placed gemstones. The gilded surface highlights the sculpted details, while the hand-applied painting brings subtle color and definition to selected areas. Gemstone accents add further richness to the handcrafted finish, complementing the detailed metalwork. The combination of traditional copper craftsmanship, gold gilding, painting, and gemstone detailing reflects the precision and patience of Nepalese artisans, giving the sculpture a refined and distinctive character.

Seated gracefully in the lotus posture, the figure holds a flaming sword of wisdom in the raised right hand, symbolizing the cutting away of ignorance, confusion, and delusion. The left hand holds the stem of a blue lotus supporting the Prajnaparamita scripture, representing the perfection of wisdom and profound Dharma knowledge. The youthful expression, peaceful gaze, five-jeweled crown, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and flowing silk garments reflect the refined appearance of an enlightened Bodhisattva. Intricate carvings across the crown, ornaments, robes, lotus pedestal, and sword add depth and definition, while gold gilding, acrylic painting, and gemstone embellishments enhance the detailed Himalayan craftsmanship.
