Guru Rinpoche—Padmasambhava, revered as the Second Buddha and founder of Vajrayana Buddhism, embodies profound spiritual mastery and enlightened activity. He is depicted seated in Lalitāsana, the royal ease posture, symbolizing serene wisdom paired with compassionate readiness to aid all beings. In his left hand, he holds a kapala (skull cup), representing spiritual abundance and the transcendence of death. His right hand grasps a vajra, symbolizing indestructible clarity and unwavering wisdom. Resting against his left shoulder is a khatvanga trident, a tantric staff that signifies his mastery over the three realms and the unity of the Three Kayas—the truth, enjoyment, and emanation bodies. Crowning his head is the distinctive lotus hat adorned with a feather, reflecting his enlightened vision and dynamic compassion. This portrayal of Padmasambhava radiates spiritual power and approachable grace, capturing the transformative energy central to Vajrayana teachings.
