In his right hand, he wields the flaming sword of wisdom, with its flames artistically rendered to represent mental illumination and the removal of ignorance. His left hand holds a lotus flower, atop which is the Prajnaparamita Sutra, which represents the pinnacle of transcendent wisdom. The lotus, emerging pure and unstained from muddy waters, represents spiritual awakening and the innate capacity for enlightenment in all beings.
