Handcrafted in Nepal, this Shakyamuni Buddha Statue reflects the refined artistry and traditional craftsmanship of Himalayan artisans. Standing 33 cm (13 inches) tall with a 26.5 cm (10.4 inches) base and weighing 4.86 kg, it is carefully crafted from a copper body and adorned with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding, deeply engraved carvings that produce a magnificent 3D-like effect, and detailed acrylic painting. The radiant gold finish, intricate surface work, and carefully applied painted elements showcase the precision, patience, and dedication of skilled Nepalese artisans. Shakyamuni Buddha, born Siddhartha Gautama, is revered as the historical Buddha whose teachings form the foundation of Buddhism, emphasizing wisdom, compassion, mindfulness, and the path toward liberation. This finely crafted sculpture makes a meaningful addition to Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, temples, or sacred collections, reflecting the rich heritage of Himalayan Buddhist art and craftsmanship.
Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted seated in the full lotus posture upon an elaborately formed double-lotus pedestal. His right hand extends downward over the knee in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, with the fingertips gently touching the surface below, while his left hand rests in his lap in the meditation gesture. His face bears a calm, composed expression, defined by softly lowered eyes, gently arched brows, a painted urna between the eyebrows, delicately shaped lips, and elongated earlobes. Rows of dark blue curls cover his head and rise into a prominent ushnisha finished with a small golden finial. He wears a monastic robe draped over his left shoulder, leaving the right shoulder and chest exposed. The robe is decorated with finely engraved floral and scrolling patterns along the borders, folds, and lower garment. Carefully modeled fabric details follow the natural contours of his seated form, while the polished gold-gilded body contrasts with the dark blue hair and subtle painted facial accents. The broad pedestal is composed of two layered rows of lotus petals, bordered by delicate beading and engraved ornamental bands.
