Handcrafted in Nepal with traditional techniques
Troma Nagmo is depicted with blue skin, symbolizing the empty nature of reality and the unchangeable, all-encompassing void. She stands in a dynamic, wrathful posture, often trampling on figures that represent ego and delusion, signifying the triumph over attachments and suffering. Her face is ferocious, with three piercing red eyes, a gaping mouth, sharp teeth and fangs, and a twisting red tongue. Red facial hair blazes upward like fire, and her tawny-orange or yellow hair-locks swirl above her five-skull tiara. In her right hand, Troma Nagmo wields a vajra-handled curved flaying knife (kartika), symbolizing the severing of ignorance and delusion. Her left hand holds a skull cup (kapala) filled with blood or nectar, representing the transformation of the five aggregates into wisdom and the nectar of enlightenment. Resting in the crook of her left arm is a tantric staff (khatvanga), adorned with symbolic elements such as a crossed-vajra, nectar vase, silk ribbons, severed heads, and a trident. The flames and radiating Halo behind her further emphasize her wrathful, transformative power, each representing various tantric principles and the union of wisdom and method.
