Tsongkhapa with Disciples Golden Statue Set: Embodiment of Wisdom and Lineage

Tsongkhapa with Disciples Golden Statue Set is a finely handcrafted Buddhist sculpture collection created by skilled Nepali artisans, measuring 22.05 inches (56cm) in height with a 15.55 inches (39.5cm) base and weighing 30.72 kg. Crafted from a copper body and richly adorned with 24K gold gilding and detailed acrylic painting, this statue set reflects the exceptional artistry and traditional techniques of Himalayan metalwork. Its impressive composition, radiant finish, and detailed craftsmanship make it suitable for grand Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, monasteries, or spiritual collections.

The sculpture set depicts Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, seated at the center with his two principal disciples, Gyaltsab Je and Khedrup Je, positioned on either side. Tsongkhapa is portrayed in a peaceful meditation posture, wearing the traditional yellow pandita hat and holding the stems of lotus flowers that support the sword of wisdom and Prajnaparamita scripture. His disciples are depicted seated respectfully in monastic robes with composed expressions and traditional hand gestures. Each figure features finely detailed facial expressions, layered robes, lotus pedestals, and intricate decorative elements. The 24K gold gilding and acrylic painting enhance the details of the figures, garments, lotus flowers, and sacred attributes, highlighting the precision and devotion of Himalayan artisans.

Je Tsongkhapa (1357–1419) was a pivotal Tibetan Buddhist master whose teachings and reforms led to the establishment of the Gelug school, one of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism. He emphasized rigorous monastic discipline, comprehensive study of sutra and tantra, and the importance of logic and debate. His two main disciples, Gyaltsab Je and Khedrup Je, became his successors and were instrumental in propagating his teachings.
