Hand-gilded in luminous 24K gold, this refined Vajra Guru Padmasambhava statue embodies the radiant presence of the Second Buddha. Measuring 26 cm (10.2”) in height on a 16 cm (6.3”) base and weighing 2.04 kg, the copper-crafted figure depicts the master in a posture of serene, all-seeing compassion. Subtle acrylic detailing enhances the Guru's expressive features, guiding the mind toward quiet reflection, devotion, and deep spiritual awareness.

Padmasambhava, also known as Vajra Guru Padmasambhava, is depicted as the great tantric master who brought Buddhism to Tibet and subdued forces obstructing the Dharma. Seated in a regal posture upon a lotus throne, he holds a five-pronged vajra at his heart in his right hand, symbolizing indestructible wisdom and enlightened power, while his left hand cradles a skull cup filled with the nectar of immortality, representing the transformation of ignorance into wisdom. Resting against his left shoulder is the khatvanga trident, adorned with symbolic elements that signify his tantric accomplishments and the union of wisdom and compassion. He wears a distinctive lotus hat with an eagle feather and sun-and-moon emblems, denoting his mastery over both worldly and spiritual realms. Adorned with rich robes, ornaments, and a penetrating gaze, Guru Rinpoche embodies the enlightened qualities of all Buddhas, offering protection, spiritual guidance, and the power to overcome obstacles on the path to awakening.

Padmasambhava, historically known as the Lotus-Born or Guru Rinpoche, was the legendary Indian master who established Vajrayana Buddhism in Tibet during the 8th century. Revered as an emanation of Amitabha Buddha, he is prayed to for the swift pacification of negative conditions and the swift realization of liberation. His teachings remain the foundational pillar of the Nyingma school, offering practical wisdom for navigating worldly and spiritual paths.

During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
