A Sacred Vajradhara with Consort Yab Yum Statue Representing Supreme Union

This exquisite Vajradhara with Consort Yab Yum Statue is meticulously handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans, preserving the profound traditions of Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship. Standing 9.0 inches (23 cm) in height with a 7.5-inch (19 cm) base and weighing 2.03 kg, this elegant sculpture is expertly crafted from a copper body and richly adorned with radiant 24K gold gilding, vibrant acrylic painting, and carefully inlaid gemstones. Its intricate detailing, balanced composition, and luminous finish make it a distinguished centerpiece for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, temples, or treasured spiritual collections.

Vajradhara is depicted in Yab Yum union with his consort, seated together upon a finely sculpted lotus throne. Vajradhara's arms are crossed at his heart, holding the vajra (thunderbolt) in his right hand and the bell (ghanta) in his left, while embracing his consort. His consort embraces Vajradhara in return, with her hands holding her respective ritual attributes. Both figures are adorned with elaborate five-jeweled crowns, earrings, necklaces, armlets, bracelets, anklets, and flowing celestial garments, richly enhanced with 24K gold gilding, vibrant acrylic painting, and gemstones. Their intimate Yab Yum posture represents the inseparable union of complementary enlightened qualities, while their serene expressions, ornate jewelry, and finely detailed lotus throne reflect the traditional Himalayan Buddhist iconography and exceptional craftsmanship of skilled Nepali artisans.

Vajradhara is regarded in the Sarma schools of Tibetan Buddhism as the primordial Buddha, the dharmakaya source of all tantric teachings. As the tantric manifestation of Shakyamuni Buddha, he represents the enlightened state of the Buddha's mind. The yab yum iconographic form specifically illustrates the union of skillful means (masculine) and transcendent wisdom (feminine), which is essential for attaining complete enlightenment in the Vajrayana tradition.
