Vajrapani Sacred Sculpture - Embodying Spiritual Power and Transformed Energy

This Vajrapani Sacred Sculpture measures 13.19”/33.5cm in height with a 10.63”/27cm base and weighs 3.95 kg. The sculpture is crafted with a copper body, carefully modeled to capture Vajrapani’s dynamic posture, wrathful expression, elaborate ornaments, flowing scarves, and richly detailed garments. The surface is finished with 24K gold gilding, covering the figure, ornaments, garments, and lotus pedestal with a luminous golden finish while emphasizing the finely engraved patterns across the sculpture. Acrylic painting is precisely applied to the face, eyes, eyebrows, lips, teeth, and flame-like hair, creating the distinctive contrasting details of the wrathful form. Gemstones are set into the crown, necklaces, central ornaments, and other decorative elements, adding touches of blue and red throughout the gilded surface. The combination of copper modeling, gold gilding, detailed acrylic painting, and gemstone work gives the sculpture a richly finished appearance while preserving the intricate details of its traditional craftsmanship.

The sculpture depicts Vajrapani in a wrathful, dynamic standing form with one face and two arms. His face features three eyes, sharply raised brows, a wide-open mouth with prominent fangs and teeth, and vividly painted red and blue details that intensify his fierce expression. His hair rises dramatically behind his head in large flame-like strands, painted in deep red, orange, and dark tones. He wears an elaborate crown decorated with multiple ornamental elements and skull-like motifs, along with large circular earrings, layered necklaces, armlets, bracelets, and other elaborate jewelry. His raised right hand holds a vajra, clearly identifying his principal attribute, while his left hand is positioned across the body holding a lasso. Long scarves and ribbons extend outward from his shoulders and arms, creating a strong sense of movement around the figure. His lower body is covered by a richly engraved garment with patterned borders, layered folds, and decorative elements extending around the waist and legs. He stands in a powerful bent-leg posture with both feet firmly placed upon the lotus pedestal, giving the figure its characteristic energetic movement. The pedestal beneath him consists of layered lotus petals and intricately engraved ornamental bands, supporting the dynamic figure. The combination of the vajra, lasso, three eyes, wrathful expression, flame-like hair, elaborate crown and ornaments, flowing scarves, dynamic stance, and lotus pedestal defines the iconography of this Vajrapani sculpture.
