Description

Vajrasattva 24K Gold Gilded Tibetan Sculpture: Radiating Pure Wisdom and Peace

Handcrafted in Nepal, this Vajrasattva 24K Gold Gilded Tibetan Sculpture measures 5.7”/14.5cm in height, with a 4.5”/11.5cm base, and weighs 0.54 kg. The sculpture is formed from a copper body, carefully modeled to define the seated figure, lotus pedestal, crown, jewelry, robes, and ornamental details. The surface is finished with 24K gold gilding, covering the figure, pedestal, ornaments, and finely engraved decorative elements with a radiant golden appearance. Acrylic painting is applied to selected details including the black hair, eyebrows, eyes, lips, and other fine features, creating definition and contrast against the gilded surface. The copper body provides the sculptural foundation, while the gold gilding and detailed acrylic painting bring out the intricate modeling and traditional Himalayan craftsmanship of the statue.

Vajrasattva is depicted seated in full lotus posture upon a lotus pedestal, with a calm expression and composed posture. He has one peaceful face and two arms, wearing an elaborate five-pointed crown, earrings, necklaces, armlets, bracelets, and richly patterned garments. His right hand holds a vajra at the center of his chest, while his left hand rests lower and holds a bell, the two implements being the defining attributes of Vajrasattva. The vajra represents the indestructible nature of awakened wisdom, while the bell represents wisdom and the realization of emptiness. His black hair is gathered into a high coiffure beneath the crown, with strands falling over his shoulders. The lotus pedestal supports the seated figure and completes the composition. The combination of the meditation posture, vajra and bell, peaceful expression, crown, ornaments, and lotus seat presents the traditional iconographic form of Vajrasattva associated with purification practice.

Vajrasattva is revered in Tibetan Buddhist art as the primordial Buddha of healing, purification, and the absolute nature of mind. Practitioners engage in recitation and meditation on his mantra to dissolve emotional obscurations and restore inner harmony. This form of Buddhist art serves as a visual anchor for transforming negative karmic imprints into clear, luminous awareness.
