Vajrayogini is shown in a dynamic dancing posture. Her right hand wields a kartika (ritual flaying knife), while her left hand raises a skull cup to her lips, drinking blood that represents the blissful wisdom overcoming defilements. A khatvanga staff rests against her left shoulder, symbolising her inseparable tantric consort. She is adorned with a necklace of fifty freshly severed heads and crowned with five skulls, signifying the transformation of the five poisons into the five wisdoms. Beneath her feet lie two subdued figures, embodying the defeat of ego and ignorance, while the sun disc and lotus base reflect her pure enlightened activity. A radiant halo surrounds her, signifying her blazing spiritual power.
