Statue of White Mahakala, Wrathful Wealth Protector | Nepali Handcrafted Icon
White Mahakala, Wrathful Wealth Protector, stands 26 cm tall with an 18.5 cm wide base and weighs 1.50 kg. Made from copper, covered with a triple layer of 24K gold gilding, and carved with deeply engraved carvings that produce a magnificent 3D-like effect. This sculpture, handcrafted by expert Nepalese artisans, elegantly symbolizes Himalayan Buddhism's sacred traditions, making it an appropriate addition to altars, meditation places, or sacred collections.
White Mahakala is portrayed in radiant white, symbolizing purity and the power to pacify negativity and obstacles. His fierce expression—bulging eyes, a furrowed brow, and bared fangs—embodies his power to destroy evil and ignorance, not to harm but to protect. He has three eyes, representing the ability to see the past, present, and future, showing his all-knowing awareness. The statue features six arms, each holding significant ritual implements: in his right hands, he has a damaru (hand drum), a wish-fulfilling jewel, and a kartika (crescent knife) with a vajra; in his left hands, he carries a trident and a skull cup, all symbolizing the destruction of illusion and the offering of enlightened wisdom. He is adorned with elaborate jewelry and a flowing skirt, symbolizing his mastery over ego and the cycles of worldly existence (samsara). Behind him, a flaming aureole radiates, representing spiritual energy and the fire of transformation. He stands in a dynamic pose, trampling symbolic demons and elephant-like enemies—figures representing inner delusion and ignorance.
