White Tara, revered as the embodiment of compassionate healing, is iconographically depicted as a serene, youthful female bodhisattva radiating peaceful white light symbolizing purity, longevity, and restorative energy. She is typically shown seated in vajra posture upon a fully blossomed lotus throne, representing spiritual purity and liberation from suffering. Her right hand extends in the gesture of supreme generosity (varada mudra), while her left hand holds the stem of a blue utpala lotus that blooms beside her shoulder, often displaying three blossoms that signify the past, present, and future Buddhas. Distinctively, White Tara is adorned with ornaments and a five-jeweled crown, reflecting her sambhogakaya form, and is often depicted with seven eyes—on her face, palms, and soles—symbolizing her all-seeing compassionate awareness that actively responds to the suffering of beings. Her calm, meditative expression and graceful posture embody healing, longevity, and the swift removal of obstacles.
