From the heart of Nepal comes this striking Black Manjushri statue, a powerful symbol of transcendent wisdom and clarity. Expertly crafted with a copper body, it stands 25.5 cm (10 in) tall, has an 18.5 cm (7.3 in) base, and weighs 2.03 kg, offering a compact yet commanding presence. Black Manjushri appears with a dark blue-black or black body, embodying his power to absorb and transform negativity and ignorance. With one face and two arms, his fierce yet compassionate expression features three glaring eyes and sharp fangs, showing his strength to overcome harmful forces. Often seated in vajra posture or standing with one leg bent and the other extended, he’s always ready for action. In his right hand, he wields a flaming wisdom sword, cutting through ignorance with sharp insight and purifying flames. His left hand holds a lotus stem supporting the Prajnaparamita scripture, symbolizing wisdom and the teaching of emptiness. Wearing a five-skull crown that represents the transformation of the five poisons into wisdom, and topped with an ushnisha signifying supreme enlightenment, Black Manjushri is surrounded by a flaming halo that burns away obstacles and ignorance. Draped in silks, jewels, bone ornaments, and tiger skin, and encircled by flames, he embodies a powerful blend of fearsome protection and compassionate wisdom.
