Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarva Statues | Inspiring Devotion, Wisdom, and Practice

Honoring two of the most revered female masters in Vajrayana Buddhism, this set of Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarva Statues measures 9.45”/24 cm in height with a 5.12”/13 cm base and has a combined weight of 2.17 kg. Handcrafted in Nepal from carefully sculpted copper bodies, both figures are finished through a traditional oxidation process that creates rich tonal variation and brings depth to the finely engraved surfaces. The darkened copper finish lends the set a dignified, antique character while highlighting the precision and patience of Nepalese artisans. Representing accomplished practitioners closely associated with the lineage of Guru Rinpoche, this meaningful pair inspires devotion, wisdom, and dedication to Dharma practice, making it well suited to a private altar, meditation space, monastery, or refined Buddhist art collection.

Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarava, two of the most revered female disciples and consorts of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), represent spiritual accomplishment, devotion, wisdom, and the preservation of Vajrayana teachings. Their sacred form symbolizes the union of enlightened feminine wisdom and compassionate activity. Yeshe Tsogyal, known as the “Mother of Tibetan Buddhism,” is depicted with a serene expression, representing her mastery of meditation, realization, and her role in preserving and transmitting profound teachings. Mandarava, the princess of Zahor and a great realized yogini, embodies devotion, spiritual discipline, and the attainment of wisdom through practice. Together, their presence reflects the importance of dedication, enlightened wisdom, and the transformative power of Vajrayana practice, inspiring practitioners to cultivate devotion, insight, and spiritual realization.

Yeshe Tsogyal and Mandarva are two of the most significant female figures in Tibetan Buddhism, recognized as principal consorts of Guru Padmasambhava, who introduced Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. Yeshe Tsogyal, a Tibetan princess, became Padmasambhava’s foremost disciple, achieving enlightenment and serving as a dakini who transcribed and concealed many terma (hidden teachings). Mandarva, an Indian princess, was also a highly accomplished yogini and master of spiritual practices. Both embody profound feminine wisdom, dedication, and the realization of ultimate truth, serving as powerful role models for practitioners.
