She typically stands in a dynamic posture, sometimes with her right leg raised, signifying her readiness to enact enlightened activity. She holds a hand drum (damaru), representing the sound of emptiness and the call to awakening. She holds a curved knife (drigug), symbolizing the cutting of ignorance and obstacles. Her body is adorned with a long necklace of flowers and traditional bone jewelry, further expressing her dakini attributes and connection to the charnel ground symbolism of transformation. She stands upon a lotus, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening amidst the impurities of samsara.
